Our helmsman on the passage from St Lucia

What a small world it is! A few years back, I googled for other First 42 owners who had done major maintenance on their boats, and this American First 42 “Ocean Angel” always showed up as one of the top choices. So I ended up emailing with Steven about different topics. Joking that we should meet to discuss things more direct.
Didn’t think too much about it since then, until we spotted a beautifully kept First 42 in Marigot Bay a week ago. I said to myself, could it really be…? And sure enough, when I got a glimpse of her transom – Ocean Angel!
We hailed them, and out came Joy, Steve and their friend Jane! Remebering our email correspondance, Steve invited us aboard, and this was the start of a lovely week with exchange of ideas and such with some wonderful people!

Sorry, but it seems like our brand new (and quite expensive) True Heading CTRX Graphene+ ais transponder is no longer working.

We are in dialogue with the manufacturer, and hope to fix the problem as soon as possible. However, this will at least take a few weeks. 😦

Nå går vi bare for motor oppover, og selvsagt ble det hele 20 m/s i trynet og regn på den heldigvis korte turen fra Soufriere til Marigot Bay. Litt kluss i vekslinga ble det med en sverm overivrige boat boys som alle skulle tilby bøyeplass. Endte opp med en av de offisielle som marinaen drifter, og må vel antyde at $ 30 US for en bøye er litt væl. Når så det er sagt, ble vi etter hvert kongelig mottatt, og storkoser oss!
Vi blir her i helgen, og fortsetter deretter til Rodney Bay for et par reale arbeidsdager for å reparere genoaen samt innfesting til kutterseil.

Had the most fantastic trip around the Soufriere area. Waterfalls, zipliner, botanical gardens among other delights!
